BACKGROUND OF OUR TRAINING FACILITIES
DG Experts Romania has been providing courses on the transport of dangerous goods since 2012 to date, under the auspices of Cargo Training International from the United Kingdom (CTI).
It started with just DG by Air, where their instructors came over every time we organized a course. Step by step that also happened for the DG by Road and DG by Sea courses, until September 2020, since we have our own CTI associated instructor in house.
It is important to mention about Cargo Training International that they have a high level of professional experience in courses related to the transport of dangerous goods, for 30+ years.
During all those years of collaboration, the courses were also gradually adapted to the Competent Based Training and Assessment (CBTA) system.
This to be ready on the 1st of January 2019 when ICAO, the ONLY civil aviation governing body in the world, made it applicable as a standard for DG by Air courses This and many other initiatives, permanently respecting the legislations down to the smallest details, etc., brought us to a level of international recognition as a professional training facility.
Small historical view on CBTA …
The concept originated in the 1970s when NASA was investigating the role of human factors in the aviation business and wanted to gain insight into the specific roles and tasks of the people involved.
Subsequently, several decades passed to develop and refine this type of training courses.
Starting in 2006, ICAO introduced it in their Doc 9868, with in Chapter 2, General provisions for competency-based training and assessment. Further on, they were referring to it in the trainings chapter of the Technical Instructions (TI), ICAO Doc 9284, as a strong recommendation and advise, then putting it in an annex of the TI and made it applicable from the 1st of January 2019.
A dedicated new document, ICAO Doc 10147, related to CBTA was issued by the 1st of January 2021.
